What is a geotag under “Location Format” in the configuration settings?
This is a format for showing location information that is additional to the one provided as standard functionality by Twitter. You can use this to add longitude and latitude information without having to insert a map link within the tweet.
What is the difference between all the options for “Location Format” in the configuration settings?
Map link only: adds a GoogleMaps link in the tweet indicating the longitude and latitude. It will stay there permanently as long as the tweet is not deleted.
Geotag only: adds a Twitter geotag to the tweet. This information will remain for a set period of time (6 months as of January 2011). You can also delete all geotags from old tweets via the settings screen.
Map link and geotag: adds a link to GoogleMaps and a Twitter geotag to the tweet.
I have set the “Location Format” to Geotag in the configuration settings but the location information is not being added.
Please enable Geotags under Settings on Twitter. Please tick and save the “Add a location to your tweets” under Settings/Account/Tweet Location.
When walking, my speed and direction are not set correctly.
It is possible for the iPhone’s built-in GPS to set the speed to zero when the speed of movement is relatively slow. As walking speeds tend to be low, there is a tendency for this to happen.
Sometimes the tweet is not submitted correctly.
Twitter will throw a submission error if the preceding tweet has the same content. There is a tendency for this to happen when you are not moving. Even when you are moving, depending on the timer settings, the tweet contents may not change and end up causing this error.
When using Fisica, the sensor values are not being inserted.
The application cannot receive data from external sensors when it is running as a background task. This is a limitation in the way the iPhone works. When you want to use the external sensors, please set the application so that it does not run in the background and lock the iPhone.
What happens when the tweet is longer than 140 characters?
Before submission, it truncates the end of the string at the point where it is indicated in the text field. If it still goes over 140 characters, the end of the tweet is truncated before submission.
What happens if I change my Twitter account whilst the timer is running?
If you change your Twitter account, from then on it will continue submitting to that new account. It will work in the same way even when the timer is running.
